There's no Indian who would not be able to conjure up a visual image at the mention of Banaras. The city built on the banks of the lovable holy Ganges river means a lot to every Indian. It's all about the beautiful Aarti, the melodious chants, the steps leading to the ghats, the silk woven Banarasi saris, the Banarasi pan and malaipuri. It's a beloved city, one that is based at the heart of every Indian. And that's precisely what Akshay Gupta, a Banarasi and founder of Bageecha wants to showcase with his collection. Akshay has a lineage of more than 100 years in designing woven beauty as he belongs to the Banaras House family.

With the first flagship store in Shahpur Jat, New Delhi, all set to be launched this coming Sunday, the Bageecha is ready to seduce the modern Indian bride for whom traditions ate an integral part of the wedding, For her its all about Mehendi laced hands, to kohl lined eyes accessorized with colorful glass bangles, jhumkas and paizebs and the silver kamarbandh. Its all about the rustle of silk, the Banarasi motifs in gold and silver, the latkans on beautiful lehengas and dupattas and trousseau consisting of the much loved woven saris.

The weaves and pattern take you generations back to the era of tradition while the bright pastel hues belong to the mind of today's woman. Inspired by glorious Indian Art, Architecture and Culture, greatly influenced by the different schools of Indian miniature paintings such as Mughal and Rajput, Bageecha has an Indian soul. It not only celebrates the art of weaving through its traditional bootas and jaals, but Bageecha is a celebration of everything Indian; our artisans, bright colours, crafts and jewellery, weddings, traditions and cultures.

In our humble suggestion this is one boutique the brides shouldn't be giving a miss!!
