Just a couple of years old The Avani Hua Hin Resort and Villas does about 20 Indian weddings a year which is really huge. I was invited to experience the still new resort recently, for an experiential with a group of journalists.

It is located in the beach side city of Thailand and is quieter than the capital. From Bangkok we traveled for two hours in a luxury bus, the roads were quiet, clean and not that crowded. Our welcome was the traditional Thai way- a beautiful hand garland was given to us with a fresh drink served from a pineapple shaped jar. Hua Hin is also known for its sweet pineapples grown all over and more recently for the vineyard that is popular among the tourists. With 196 rooms, suites and villas the resort makes a perfect place for a wedding destination. Built in such a way that guest can get into the pool just from their room, it also has one of the largest ballroom in Hua Hin. The resort has two large and long swimming pools along with scenic lake. You can also enjoy the Oceanfront dining and jazz bar and enjoy the sprawling tropical gardens. Much of our breakfast and dining were done on the Oceanfront dining area, it was extremely enjoyable and beautiful.

The Deluxe rooms that were assigned to us had large bathrooms. There were beautiful welcome gifts of delicious chocolates, fresh fruits especially curated for us. The mirror in the room had hand sketched art work making us feel special.

Like I said, it opened directly to the swimming pool. Our first meal at the Oceanfront dining area was a mix of traditional Thai food as well as some Indian cuisine. The resort is open to wedding families bringing in their own chefs and maharajs even though the Indian chef they have is excellent and whips up a mean meal. Requests from one of the vegetarian journalists were met with enthusiasm by the chef and the chole and dal that was made specially was delicious and actually felt home made.

While the Avani Hua Hin gives you perfect luxurious stay and you might want to explore the resort and its beautiful beach along with the one of the best spas in Hua Hin there are places that you may want to visit that are nearby.

The Hua Hin railway Station is one of them -quaint and beautiful with an old world charm it makes for amazing photo opportunity. The best feature of this station is the Royal Waiting Room that stands out for its beauty - it was used by the King when he visited Hua Hin. It's a historical place that you must visit if you have the time. One can also troop over to the Artist Village that is famous for its numerous art work done by local artist. The Artist Village has beautiful art galleries, a cafe and art workshop that allows visitors to show their talent as well.

While you enjoy the wedding and bond with your families over beautiful rituals the Avani Hua Hin makes sure that not just your wedding but your stay in Hua Hin will be something to remember.
