Kebab Festival at the Metropolitan Hotel & Spa

I am a sucker for Indian food :) I know its comfort food for me but there are so many dimensions to Indian cuisine that it's hard to explain the nuances in a single article. But anyway this blog is all about my experience at The Metropolitan Hotel & Spa where I was invited for an experiential of their ongoing delicious Tawa Kebabs festival last Saturday, could I say no such a delicious afternoon :)? So I trooped down to the hotel located a stones throwaway from the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. The hotel is also known for its Japanese restaurant Sakura.

But let's talk about the kebabs here. There is not a single Indian festival or weddings or even dinner parties where the Kebab is not served. It's a pre-requisite followed by the dal makhanis, butter chickens, rogan josh or bhuna muttons. So cutting the chase I pored into the menu that stood out with almost all the popular kebabs reminding you of India's regal era.

Among those that stood out were temporal Gosht Parcha Tawa, the aphrodisiacal Tawa Macchi, delectable Tawa Lamb Chop, Tawa Pomfret, Khuna Soya Tawa, Bagaani Ki Tikki Tawa, Tawa Baby Potato, Tawa Mushroom and many more I began with the Tandoori lamb chops, tawa pompret and fish cooked to perfection and served with crispy papads and three different kinds of dips out of which my favourite was the one that had the sweet flavor mango. My favourite was the lamb chop that was succulent and dripping with spicy flavour.

For vegetarians the option was enough to forget about the main dish but that of course wasn't the case. The kebabs were followed with an Indian thali that included two different types of prawn curry and butter chicken with piping hot naans and rice. On the request of the chef we concluded our delicious lunch with paan kulfi. My suggestion is that you should NOT give this creamy frozen dessert a miss.

One can choose any five options out of the menu to make their own platter, which will be a total recall of Mughal meals. So, head to Chutney, Bar + Tandoor, where the Kebabs on Tawa will be the king!
